As you all know even if you’ve stayed here for a short time I'm sure you've heard of Metrotown ShoppingCenter or even Robson Street. Places where you can go shopping for the smallest item for whatever your heart desires. Robson Street, which is also called "Robson Strasse" because of the many German stores and restaurants, is defined by designer boutiques and restaurants as well as some major chains like Club Monaco, Banana Republic, etc.. It’s a little bit more expensive than other places but you can enjoy the nice atmospherethere. Only a few blocks away from there you can find Granville Street, which is the center of downtown shopping. You can find some special shops there like body piercing shops, used record shops etc..Nearby is the Pacific Center, an indoor Shopping Center with over 200 stores, as well as "The Bay," a department stores which has a lot of cheap special offers on the weekends. Comparable to the Pacific Center but much bigger is Metrotown, which you can reach by Sky Train. It has every different price range and you can find everything there but be careful that you don’t get lost. But if you have more exquisite tastes and don't want to pay the full price for designer clothing, then you must visit WINNERS Designer Outlets. Sometimes you'll find inexpensive brands such as DKNY, Tommy Hilfiger or Ralph Lauren. However you might have to search through the many racks but it's bound to pay off as you'll save over 50% of the regular rice. This will certainly put a big smile on your face as it happened to me the many times I've visited.
For the more Bohemian
students I
highly recommend the (in)famous Commercial Drive.
You might ask,"Why is it famous?"
Well let me tell you why! Commercial Drive
is the only area where you
can find over fifty different cultures. All
these different cultural influences make
for a very entertaining visit. You can
start by searching in a very eccentric bazaar.
After your search is finished, you
might just feel like drinking a strong cappuccino
in one of the many Cappuccino Bars,
that are such a big part of Commercial Drive. So for a little taste of
Italy after your multi-cultural experience I
recommend Calabria Coffee Bar, where
you can relax and enjoy the great atmosphere
after shopping. |
