It's getting cold outside, the first snow is falling, the local ski resorts have opened already and you can find Christmas decoration everywhere. It's December, the first month of winter and the month of Christmas. As you can see on the cover these are the subjects that this month’s EF Insider edition is dedicated to.

Although every student can experience the winter in Vancouver himself or herself, we tried to bring Christmas and wintertime in our home countries closer to you. Daphne and Nienke present us a typical Dutch Celebrity, ‘Sinter Klaas’! He is the Dutch version of the well-known Santa Clause. Believe it or not, Sinter Klaas lives in Spain, but read the whole story in their article.
I wrote about Christmas Markets, a typical German tradition; I've learned since I've been here. Read the article and find out what Christmastime in Germany is like. And let's try to make mulled wine a Canadian tradition.

Perhaps you are still looking for the right holiday trip. Celine, Marianne and Paolo describe two wonderful destinations in Europe. South Belgium is the topic of Celine's article. Marianne describes a nostalgic journey and Paolo presents Italy and special winter activities in the north. Of course they are real experts in their fields, so use the opportunity and get real insider tips.

Besides the glorious Christmas and winter atmosphere, December is a sad month, because the April AY students are leaving us. Mauricio wrote down the experience he had in Vancouver and says goodbye in the name of all students.
How much they enjoyed their stay in Vancouver, you can deduct from the effort and time they spent on creating their yearbook. Gustavo summarizes the idea and the work behind it.

Of course, normal life goes on in Vancouver. Daphne gives us an idea about the Kung Fu class. Unfortunately observers are not allowed in the class, so use the chance and read in her article what’s going on every Wednesday afternoon.

Pierre Francois is the expert for Tattoos! He not only knows where to get it here in Vancouver and which famous music stars have Tattoos, he can tell you his own (painful) experience of getting a Tattoo. A thrilling and authentic story!

The horoscope seems to become a fixed part of this Newsletter. Our Dutch psychics Nini and Daffieon studied the stars for you and they will predict the future for you.

We got mail! Gitte, a former student from Denmark, sent us a beautiful letter about the experience she made when she came back home after her time in Vancouver. So amazing that we had to publish it here!
